Effective customized learning

5

I began learning Arabic with GML. My lessons were customized to my life and needs, and I quickly advanced to an intermediate level, communicating with friends and shopkeepers in Egypt without need of English. It goes a long way to be able to speak with the locals in their own language – I was treated more like family than a tourist. And because my lessons were customized, I did not have to learn irrelevant vocabulary. The one-on-one attention helped me to learn quickly, and it was a lot of fun as well. This is not rote language learning. It is fun and interactive and RELEVANT! I recommend GML without hesitation.

I found your course to be immensely helpful. I can now follow Arabic music without needing an English translation. I really enjoyed the live video lessons, and found them quite thorough. I am now helping my wife learn Arabic using my lesson videos and  notes.

Great Arabic Lessons

4

My experience with Muna was wonderful. I loved how personal each lesson was. Though I am of Arabic origin – I forgot how to say things (they say you don’t use it – you lose it). Conversing with Muna made me remember and even learn how to construct full conversations (both spoken & written ). She’s a great and friendly person who knows her stuff. – Samantha

Great minds learn with Muna

5

I first met Muna when I lived in NYC and was looking for an Arabic teacher. I found her teaching style and personable attitude condusive to my language needs. From this I went on to do French online with GML from my home in Dubai. The distance did not affect my learning experience. I would and have recommended GML to others

Praise for Muna Saleh (Arabic Instructor)

5

Muna Saleh was my Arabic instructor for several months in 2011. Throughout this period, I was working full-time and enrolled in a Masters Degree program with a foreign language requirement. Although she was quite busy, Muna consistently made herself available so that our sessions could take place. Previous to working with her, I had completed four semesters of a formal Arabic curriculum (taught by a United Nations translator) at New York University and was proficient in reading and writing Arabic, yet had little to no experience speaking the language. I asked Muna to grow my capacity to speak Arabic, and she more than exceeded my expectations. Her lesson plan was creative, practical, and efficient. She has a strong understanding of both the colloquial and official forms of the language, and is therefore able to help those who have had education in one or the other expand their language skills. As an instructor, Muna is diligent, attentive, and encouraging when support is most needed. She understood that persistence was a key factor in accomplishing my goal and was able to inspire me when frustration weakened my motivation. As a person, she exhibits the character qualities a student most needs – she is patient, kind and always carries herself in a professional manner. I attribute being rated as a near-expert level Arabic speaker (ACTFL) to the work Muna and I did together. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Muna Saleh to anyone interested in learning Arabic, she is a wonderful teacher.

What I found especially helpful about your course was the way it was structured. The lessons made sense, and each followed naturally from the one before, so they really build on each other in a way that made it easy to learn.

While your whole course was excellent, what made it really stand out for me was the ability to download the lessons, so that I could study on my Android phone whenever I had a few minutes to spare.

I decided to study with Muna because of her competitive rates. Only after lessons began did I realise I would certainly spend Berlitz prices for her patience and methods. Her technique allowed me to form sentences and have conversations from a very early stage, instead of the overly academic approach used at universities.

One lesson but learned a lot.

5

I had one lesson which I really enjoyed & learned so much.  However I could not afford to continue as the lessons were out of my budget.  I ended up with someone not as good & less experienced. Muna is a very beautiful person and she tried her best to meet my price range, she also emailed me a lot of her teaching material so I can study on my own. Shookran ya hillwa 🙂

I studied with Muna for a State Department exam, after having forgotten most of what I learned from classes at NYU. She taught me tons of skills to help with my test. I didn’t pass sadly, but I still remember a lot of what she taught me. Shukran, Muna!

Muna is truly a gem! We hired her to tutor our one year-old son in order to expose him to his Lebanese culture and language. Muna cheerfully and skillfully keeps him engaged for an entire hour – no easy feat for such a little child! She is wonderful with kids. And he has begun to pick-up some words, also amazing for such a young child. We feel so fortunate to have found Muna. She is exactly what we were looking for in a language tutor for our son. She also assisted in purchased all the right material suitable for his age group.

Muna has a wondeful way with children. She plays games, uses fun toys and keeps mixing things up so that they don’t know they’ve been learning a foreign languages for 45 minutes straight!! And considering how young they are — ages 5 and 3 — I think that’s pretty incredible. She breaks everything down to its simplest parts making you feel as if you could actually master this languages. Definitely one of the finest foreign language teachers we’ve ever met.

Your course gave me the fundamentals I needed to be better able to communicate with our clients, many of whom do not speak English. The group lessons gave me the confidence I needed, and the pronunciation tool made it easy to pick up the right way to say things. Muna was very professional! She made learning Arabic very easy for me. Her technique helped me not only memorize but actually ingrained the words in my head.

I cant say enough about my experience with Muna…. I travel to Egypt often and fell in love with the language. Fun & easy lessons for my children

5

Muna started teaching my children a few years ago twice per week. My children already speak Arabic but we felt they needed to build vocab and focus on reading & writing. Muna connected with my children and made the lesson very fun for them. It was great to see them look forward to Arabic lessons & actually learn. We live in NY during the summer and call Muna in advance before she is booked up. Thank you dear.

Fast teaching method

5

I take one class a week but I am thinking of increasing to two per week. In as little as 3 -one hour and a half lessons, I have learned how to say and write the alphabet, greetings, key phrases, a few nouns, and I have learned a few sentences. I am beginning to sound out words myself, even though I do not know what they mean yet. Muna is great. She has so many methods of teaching. She will find what works best for you. She is very patient but expects you to put in the effort. Learning is a big time commitment. I drive an hour one way to get to my lesson. But I have been greatly enjoying Arabic and look forward to my lesson each week. One on one lessons are so much better than learning a language as a group. With one on one lessons, you are corrected immediately if you are saying something incorrectly. i am looking forward to many more lessons. Thanks Muna!

My friend & I initially began studying with Muna together then found it to be more beneficial to have individual lessons. She tailored a teaching method that worked immediately and encouraged us to continue when the language became challenging. We both studied MSA Arabic for 2 years at NYU but had no clue how to form a sentence in Colloquial, which is the dialect used to converse. She uses her own teaching method which makes it soooo much easier to understand. Plus the coolest teacher I ever met 🙂 Muna, please let me know when your teaching material is published & if you need a personal reference. Shookran wa Insha?Allah asshoofik bekheir!

Muna was hired to teach a group of Fox News employees learn Arabic in 2008. The time frame was short so classes were intense & long. During this time Muna managed to put up with difficult characters that are impatient so we were thankful to work with such a patient, multitalented and savvy individual. I would highly recommend Muna and can provided references. Gina.

GML is al afdul (the best)! I wasn't convinced that the internet would be an effective way to learn, especially a language, but Muna proved me wrong and saved a lot of time in the process. She paid a lot of attention to what I was understanding and where my weak points were, and worked on those over and over with patience and grace. And she is very funny and a joy to speak with and learn from. I did learn a lot, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to become more familiar with the Arabic language and writing system.

I’ve been working with Muna for four or five months. When I first started I didn’t know anything about Arabic, couldn’t even do the alphabet, and now I know how to construct sentences and feel confident speaking. I would absolutely recommend her for any age group, any talent level. If you’re good at it, she can talk to you in all sorts of different dialects and if you’re just starting, then she’s great to get you started using her cool methods.

I’ve been studying with Muna for two months now and I’m focusing on the Levantine dialect. It’s been very easy to follow along. I think Arabic in general, while being a really beautiful language, is quite hard, especially spoken Arabic. And I think, having worked with Muna for the last two months, I can begin to understand a little more and begin to form basic sentences and have a very simple conversation with people from that region. It’s been great, and for anyone who wants to learn how to speak Arabic, I would definitely recommend Muna.

I am a student abla Muna (Muna the teacher). She laughs everytime I call her that. I want to just say that she’s a very capable instructor. I’ve been studying Arabic with her for about two months now. I started, knowing nothing at all, and now we’re writing basic Arabic words in Arabic script. And she’s taught me, so far, a very good initial understanding of the grammar and I have a high degree of confidence that, with her, over the next couple of years, inshallah, I’ll learn to speak and write the Arabic language. She’s as good a professor of language studies as I’ve ever met. A real talent. And it’s a pleasure to work with her.

After a trip to Egypt, I returned with a thirst to learn more about the Arabic language. Muna was the perfect instructor, always motivational, patient, and very creative in her techniques. The one thing I will never forget is the Arabic alphabet, thanks to a CD that SHE created! Learning a new language can be intimidating, so having an excellent instructor such as Muna is essential for success.

GML est très bon!

5

I like Great Minds Learn a lot. It is easy to learn a language when there’s a live person talking you through it. The structure of the course is similar to being in a live classroom. You can look at the person and how they say it, which is helpful. Also, it is easier to learn when it is a small group, so you can get more personalized attention. The GML lessons have increased my vocabulary, which helps me get better grades in school. Even though I knew some words ( I’m in my third year of the language), it helped reinforce what I’ve learned.

Each year I give myself a dare to do something that I’ve never experienced before, something “different” that would add excitement or, growth in knowledge, in spirit, or in truth. but mostly add Fun! I was introduced to GML learning program and realized that after many years of wanting to master foreign languages, this was my answer as well as my challenge for 2013. I’ve always wanted to learn Spanislh, French and Italian. In short I started the Spanish course while doing my paralegal contract work this summer. Once I realized how easy and convenient the program was, I added French to my studies. Basically I was able to learn both languages at the same time. The program is designed so that you can do a number of games and homework and practice that just made for an easy grasp in my mind. The format is amazing, user-friendly; the teachers are effective and proficient. The best part about this learning process for me was that I didn’t feel at all overwhelmed or stressed with adding these courses to my daily busy business/performing lifestyle. Since I’m a “night owl” I could study all hours of the night or day at my leisure, no matter where I am. The online class is ideal for me, it certainly beats the online time spent on web surfing or facebook.
